Digital Assembly 2023

On 15–16 June, the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the European Commission will host the Digital Assembly on the theme of a digital, open and secure Europe.

The objective is for Europe to be at the forefront of technology and develop a competitive digital single market based on a strong focus on cyber security during the Digital Decade.

The Digital Decade provides the EU with opportunities for innovation, growth and competitiveness at global level to achieve a digital and open Europe. In addition, digitalisation is increasing rapidly, which means that security must be enhanced. A solid foundation – which is stated in the 2030 Digital Compass – is crucial to for the Digital Decade to succeed.

Shahid Raza, Director of Cybersecurity unit, RISE Research Institutes of Sweden (ARCADIAN-IoT project partner) is presenting in the session Cyber resilience – from research to increased European innovation.

The European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC), together with representatives from National Coordination Centres (NCCs), industry, and academia, will discuss how to lead the way to strengthened capabilities and increased competitiveness in cybersecurity research and innovation within the EU. The panel will highlight how joint investments in research, innovation and industry strengthen the capacities of the cybersecurity community, promote research excellence and reinforce the competitiveness of EU industry in this field.
